Single Niche or Multi-Niche blog?

Updated: Jan 7, 2023

It's just two days away to the end of 2022.

I am about halfway through my PhD journey and have decided to start a blog. Hoping that it will help me to develop my voice and hone my writing skills as I commit to crafting more blog posts in the future. Some days, I have found myself stuck in a writing rut or simply lack the motivation to get any writing done. I have been advised of the importance of writing regularly during my PhD journey, even if it's just about anything under the sun. Thus, I am hoping that this blog can be used as a form of warm up and get my gears going whenever I hit a writer's block.

I used to enjoy blogging before but stopped for a long while. I think the last blog post I wrote in my former blog was in 2016. Or was it 2015? So much has changed since then. I figured it's time to start anew!

Whilst building this website, one of the things I have been pondering was whether to set up a single niche blog or a multi-niche blog. Initially, I thought that a single niche blog focused on my academic journey would be more appropriate. Especially, since this is a website showcasing my professional portfolio. However, upon reflection, I have realised that my academic life is integrated along with other aspects of my life such as reading, running, taking long hikes, networking, spending time with family and friends, travelling, advocacy, and my faith.

It is the multi-faceted nature of my life with all the ups and downs that keeps me motivated and plodding along this marathon of a PhD journey. More importantly, it is His grace that sustains me.

I have thus arrived at the decision to have a multi-niche blog. I will be sharing aspects of my academic journey as well as writing about other interests that I have.

Whoever is reading this, I hope you will be encouraged by my blog posts.

More to come...

Stay tuned! :)
