Phoebe Tay

Welcome to my site!

My research topic focuses on the construction of language teacher identities of Singapore Sign Language (SgSL) instructors. It explores how language ideologies and ideologies of deafness impact identity. It also investigates how this influences teaching practices in the classroom.

My other related interests include education pedagogy, multilingualism, the politics of language,
and linguistic justice.

The image shows Phoebe Tay sitting on the floor with her legs crossed. She is resting her cheek against her right hand which is propped up by her elbow on her knee
